Blogging is a wonderful way to share your knowledge and position yourself as an expert online. It is my favorite online marketing activity and has multiplied my online success. It allows me to share the vast knowledge I’ve learned about online marketing. Hopefully it will help others achieve online success quickly.
Blogging is not hard, but there are some basic mistakes that are simple to make.
Avoiding these 7 blogging mistakes will improve your online results:
Mistake #1: Not making your articles attractive to the eye. Make sure you have a excellent color scheme, your font is readable, and your blog has a nice clean layout.
Mistake #2: Writing complex, paragraph-long sentences, especially if there is a hidden underlying meaning. Keep your sentences and paragraphs small, and use language that is simple for your target market to know.
Paragraphs should only be 2-3 sentences long, which may require you to have paragraph breaks at non-standard locations. This will make your blog simpler on your readers. Huge chunks of text are not simple to read online.
Mistake #3: Not using a conversational style to your writing. When you start writing, picture your ideal prospect, and then pretend you are having a one-on-one conversation with that person over coffee. Make your text come to life and expose your personality. Give your opinions when appropriate.
Mistake #4: Not using a spell checker before publishing your article. If you want to position yourself as an expert, you need to avoid careless mistakes that are simple to avoid.
Mistake #5: Focusing your writing to get natural search engine traffic, not writing to your human visitors. It’s fantastic to use keywords to get natural traffic from the search engines, but only if your article still reads well to your visitors. After all, the search engines don’t buy anything from you, but your human visitors do! Website traffic won’t do you any excellent if your readers are turned off my your writing.
Mistake #6: Writing about a topic just to make money, not because you have an interest in the topic. The best approach is to write about topics you are genuinely passionate about. Your passion will definately come across in your writing and your readers will pick up on it.
Mistake #7: One-way dialogs. Try to engage your readers in discussion. Question them to leave comments. Question them what they reckon. Get them to reckon and share their thoughts.
That’s my quick list of 7 common blogging mistakes. Avoid these mistakes and make a blog that rocks!
