Although high views, red stars, and subscription count make me pleased, I like comments the most. To me, comments means that someone watched the video and wanted to share their views on it. Even if the comment is just an insult, at least I got people talking.
I have a video that has 1600 views, but no comments. I have another video that has a lot less views, but a lot of comments. I reckon the one with comments was more successful, because it got people talking, which is what I wanted them to do.
I reckon that you are honest, and that’s cool, I wish I had the technology to make videos, cause I’d video blog, I have alot of wierd stuff on my mind, and I’d like to get some of it out on here, but I don’t have to stuff to make videos. But I like to write poetry, and in a way that’s the same as this, because I’m exspressing my mind in them, and if I never got any feedback, or anyone reading them, I wouldn’t wright everybody has there own thing, and you’re excellent at this, so keep up the excellent work
I’m certainly fond of getting views and comments and subscribers. But I don’t reckon I place too much importance on the numbers. It’s fantastic to have X number of subscribers, but what I like to see is the same people commenting on each video. I like getting to know those people. I’m not sure how much I would like it if I had 20,000 subscribers, because I would know so few of them. A few hundred would be nice, though.
face it…you like being in front of the camera and you like the attention
For me, ego is far more a part of why I youtube than it should be. I’m constantly more worried about what will entertain rather than truly always making the videos that are vital to me. But maybe really saying this out loud will motivate me to make more of the videos that I want. Thanks Rysn.
I certainly find what Ryan says to be right with me. I check my YouTube account every day to see if anyone has watched my videos or if my channel views have increased. I also agree that getting a answer makes me feel just SO EXCELLENT. It certainly is a major incentive to do what I do on YouTube.
Awesome. Fantastic to have you back by the way.
But yes, I absolutely feel better when people watch what I do/respond to my videos. I reckon it’s why we’re all here. Or at least why we all stay here. =)
This just reminded me of how I found this video. Gary posted a link to here from Twitter, and I clicked on it from there, which now seems ironic that Ryan was making references to Twitter in this video. But what I like about excellent subscribers is that they promote other people’s videos or do name drops or tags. I reckon that is one of the greatest aspects that really makes us UN-selfish as well. I would have found this video in my subscriptions, but I trusted Gary’s word from Twitter first.
Very honest answers, I reckon. Like I mentioned in my vlog, there’s certainly some ego going on here, there has to be. For me there certainly is. The ego strokes are nice. But frankly, those numbers have to mean something. For me, to have somebody sub and then never watch means nothing to me — it feels fake. It’s just a number. And it’s incredible how many people get SO hung up on that. They’d rather have you sub and never watch just to add one to that status symbol. Excellent vid man.
